Health & Nutrition Initiatives for Healthier Communities
We promote equitable inclusion across all communities when it comes to access of health and nutrition initiatives by identifying gaps of access and service.
Nutrition Initiatives & Resources
GROW Initiative Georgia aims to participate in key community programming and projects to address food access through intentional and culturally-inclusive food demonstrations and workshops throughout Coastal Georgia and the Low Country. We also participate in increasing access to community gardens, awareness of the SNAP Nutrition Curriculum for families receiving SNAP/EBT benefits, and nutrition education to children and adults.
Health Education and Health Screenings
GROW Initiative Georgia hosts free health and nutrition classes for its community. Health classes include an informational cooking class, free health tracking and vitals tracking materials, and free health screenings, including blood pressure monitoring and blood glucose testing.
Other Community Health Initiatives
GROW engages the community by participating in conferences, sharing valuable health initiatives and projects with the community, and collaborating with local organizations on identifying local needs and bridging language access.
Some of our current initiatives include:
- HPV Vaccine Equity for marginalized communities
- Culturally and Linguistically Inclusive Community Health Needs Assessments
- Mental Health Access & Workshops
